THE HOLY SCRIPTURES

1. We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the Word of God because they are the fountains of knowledge of His revelation. They are inspired by God to instruct and teach Mankind in all good deeds so that Mankind can know His paths and serve Him.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

“For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” 2 Peter 1:21.

“But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith” Romans 16:26.

“If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord” 1 Corinthians 14:37.

“Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever” Isaiah 30:8.

“Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus” Acts 1:16.

2. We believe that the best interpreter of God’s word is the Bible itself because in it is found the development of the eternal counsel for the realization of His purposes. These purposes are for the work of creation, redemption of the world or for the future.

The Lord Jesus Christ said, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me” John 5:39.

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” 2 Peter 1: 20-22.

We believe that the Word of God is interpreted by His same Word.

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” 1 Corinthians 2:12-14.

“But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel” Acts 2:16.

“And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, this day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears” Luke 4:40-21.
