THE DIVINITY

I. We believe in the existence of only one God.

He is the Creator of all that exists, weather it be visible or invisible. HE is eternal, infinite in power, Holy in his nature, with attributes and purposes and HE is divine, absolute and indivisible in His being. Known only as Himself. He does not have a body, nor body parts; therefore He has no limitations.

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord” Deuteronomy 6:4

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” John 1:1

“Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else” Deutereronomy 4:39.

“He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law” Isaiah 42:4.5

“Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God” Isaiah 43:10-12.

“Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God” Isaiah 44:6.

I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else” Isaiah 45:5-6.

“Thus saith the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God” Isaiah 45:14.

“For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else” Isaiah 45:18.

“Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside  me. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else” Isaiah 45:21-22.

He has manifested himself to the world in different ways throughout the ages.

“And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:

And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said” Genesis 18:1-5.

“Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God” Exodus 3:1-6.

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets” Hebrews 1:1.

He has revealed himself as Father of the creation.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” Genesis 1:1.“The same was in the beginning with God” John 1:2.

He has revealed himself as the Son of redemption for all mankind.

“For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life” Romans 5:10.

“But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law” Galatians 4:4.

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory” 1 Timothy 3:16.

He has shed the Holy Spirit in the heart of believers, who form His church.

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour” Titus 3:5-6. And John 14:5-20 Acts 2:1-21

2. We believe that Jesus Christ was miraculously born from the virgin womb of Mary, conceived by the Holy Spirit and that He is the true and only God.

“But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost” Matthew 1:20.

“And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God” Luke 1:30-35.

“Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen” Romans 9:5.

“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life” 1 John 5:20.

The same God from the Old Testament took human form.

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising” Isaiah 60: 1-3.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” John 1:14.

“ And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory” 1 Timothy 3:16.

The Divine and the human form were combined in a perfect and incomprehensible manner In Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was human because He was formed in a women’s womb. Jesus Christ was God because He was conceived on behalf of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, he is called Son of man as well as Son of God. This is why we believe that Jesus Christ is the only God that exists and that in Him dwelleth all the fullness of God’s divine condition.

“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily” Colossians 2:9.

3. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the only God. We believe that the Divinity is one and indivisible and that in the revelation of the Holy Spirit by His power is the Almighty God and Creator and in Jesus Christ, He is the Redeemer of all Mankind.

“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” Genesis 1:2.

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” John 4:24.10

Comparing it with:

“Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow” 1 Peter 1:11.

“For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” 2 Peter 1:21.

“But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God” Acts 5:3-4.
