THE PERFECTIONS OF GOD
1. We believe that God is perfect in Himself, in His nature and in all His actions and His infinite and incomprehensible perfection.
“Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?” Job 11:7.
“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” Matthew 5:48.
2. We believe that God is Holy in Himself and in His nature. He is an infinitively pure being. There is no man that can see Him and live. He is without any evil actions or intent. He is distant from all wicked man.
“And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure” 1 John 3:3.
“For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy” Leviticus 11:44-45.
“And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite” Exodus 33:2.
“No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him” John 1:18.
“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man” James 1:13.
“For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee” Psalms 5:4.
He is worthy to be praised by all His creatures.
“Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” Exodus 15:11.
“And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke” Isaiah 6:3-4.
“And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest” Revelation 15:3-4.
3. We believe that God is Almighty and Omnipotent. This causes all things created to live until this day.
“Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict” Job 37:23.
“And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins” Genesis 35:11.
“For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast” Psalms 33:9.
He sustains all things with His powerful word, and because of Him all things live.
“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” Hebrews 1:3.
“And he is before all things, and by him all things consist” Colossians 1:17.
The Scriptures present God’s prerogative as being Creator and Omnipotent.
“Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee” Nehemiah 9:6.
“Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee” Jeremiah 32:17.
“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible” Matthew 19:26.
His power will allow Him to triumph in all judgments.
“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth” Revelation 19:1-6.
4. We believe that God is creator; that all things were created by Him and for Him. Without Him all things made would not have been made.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” Genesis 1:1.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” John 1:3.
“I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the Lord have created it. Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth? Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me” Isaiah 45:7-11.
“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him” Colossians 1:16.
5. We believe that God is a preservationist because according to His purposes He has conserved all His creation until this present day.
“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” Hebrews 1:3.
“But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men” 2 Peter 3:7.
“God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things” Acts 17:24-25.
He also protects His people from all danger.
“My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber” Psalm 121: 2-3.
“The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore” Psalm 121:7-8.
“He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints” Proverbs 2:8.
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” John 10:27-28.
6. We believe that God is faithful and true. He is faithful and true in all His actions and in all His promises. He has fulfilled them according to His Word. He knows the future and there is fidelity and veracity in all His words. Therefore, it is impossible that he lie in his words and actions.
“Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations” Deuteronomy 7:9.
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” Matthew 24:35
“If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself” 2 Timothy 2:13.
“ And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war” Revelation 19:11.
7. We believe that God is Omnipresent because He has the prerogative of being present in all places at all moments. There is not a place in the land, in the heavens or space where He is not present at the same time.
“Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee” Psalm 139: 7-12.
“And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven” John 3:13.
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” Matthew 18:20.
“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen” Matthew 28:20.
8. We believe that God is Omniscient because He knows all things of the past, present and future and He knows the things that are hidden and the thoughts of Man. He scrutinizes our hearts and understands the imagination of thoughts.
“And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever” 1 Chronicles 28:9.
“And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us” Acts 15:8.
“He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep” John 21:17.
“For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things” 1 John 3:20.

“The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever” Psalms 37:18.
“I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee” Job 42:2.
“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure” Isaiah 46: 9-10.
“He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him” Daniel 2:22.
“And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain” 1 Corinthians 3:20.
